Two members of parliament of the House of Commons, London, Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CEIC), Labour Party Friends of Bangladesh in the United Kingdom and the presidents of Algeria and Egypt have congratulated Sheikh Hasina on her reelection as the prime minister for a record fifth term and fourth in a row.

In separate messages, they highly praised the prudent leadership of Sheikh Hasina and expressed their desire to work with her for mutual and international benefits.

In a letter sent to Sheikh Hasina on January 12, Virendra Sharma, Member of Parliament for Ealing, Southall House of Commons, London and Vice-Chair, Bangladesh All-Party Parliamentary Group said: "I wanted to write in congratulations for your election victory.”

He continued: "Your win is a testament to the great strides forward Bangladesh has taken under your leadership and the esteem you are held in by so many."

Sharma said his own constituency of Ealing Southall has many success stories led by members of the Bangladeshi diaspora and those connections continue to tie countries firmly together.

It was an honour at the end of last year to be invited to participate in Bangladesh Armed Forces Day and speak about the collaboration and cooperation between the UK and Bangladesh, he said.

"I look forward to hearing soon about the success you have planned for Bangladesh and wish you the best for your historic fifth term," he said.

Paul Bristow, Member of Parliament for Peterborough, House of Commons, London in another letter written to Sheikh Hasina, said that he is writing to congratulate her on her fourth consecutive term as the prime minister of Bangladesh.

"I would also like to congratulate you on your incredible record as the longest-serving prime minister in the history of Bangladesh, and on becoming the world's longest-serving female head of government," Bristow said.

It is clear that under your leadership as prime minister your government is delivering results for Bangladesh and improving the lives of the Bangladeshi people, the letter reads.

"Your business-friendly policies and infrastructure investment have delivered the right environment for economic growth," he said.

This sustained growth is delivering substantial improvements in the wealth and happiness of your people, and you should be incredibly proud of this record, Paul Bristow said.

"Your continued engagement with the world will continue to expand Bangladesh's already impressive network of global trade," he said.

The compassion and humanitarian leadership of your government continue to be demonstrated in the sheltering of the Rohingya people who have been forced from their homeland in Myanmar (Burma), he mentioned.

"I hope that someday the Rohingya are allowed home in a safe and dignified way," Paul Bristow said.

In another letter written to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Lord Marland of Odstock, Chairman of Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, said: "I am writing to extend our warmest congratulations on your recent and well-deserved victory in the general election of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

"Your re-election is a testament to the trust and confidence that the people of Bangladesh have in your leadership. Your visionary leadership has not only brought stability and prosperity to the nation but has also enhanced its standing on the global stage."

The letter further said: "We are confident that, under your continued guidance, Bangladesh will continue to develop and prosper economically. Your commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment, promoting innovation, and advancing sustainable development aligns perfectly with the objectives of CWEIC, and we look forward to witnessing, and supporting, the positive impact of your policies on the nation and its people.”

He said the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council remains committed to supporting Bangladesh in its journey towards greater economic prosperity, and we are eager to collaborate with your administration on initiatives that promote trade, investment, and sustainable development.

"Once again, congratulations on your well-earned victory. We wish you continued success in leading Bangladesh to new heights," he said.

In a letter of Labour Party Friends of Bangladesh in the United Kingdom to Sheikh Hasina dated January 12, Howard Dawber, Chair and Syed Bashar General Secretary said: "On behalf of Labour Party Friends of Bangladesh in the United Kingdom, we would like to congratulate you on your re-election as prime minister of Bangladesh."

Labour Friends of Bangladesh is the group within the UK Labour Party promoting British Bangladeshi people for political roles, supporting the British Bangladeshi diaspora within the UK and promoting engagement with and understanding of the Country of Bangladesh.

"We look forward to working with the Bangladesh Government in the coming years and to arranging more visits for senior UK Parliamentarians to experience Bangladesh for themselves," the letter reads.

With all good wishes for a peaceful and prosperous future for Bangladesh and for your premiership, the letter also said.

Meanwhile, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina following her election victory.

He also wished her success in carrying out the duties of the new mandate. The Algerian president renewed his invitation to the prime minister to make an official visit to Algeria.

“I would like to express on this occasion my constant readiness to continue working towards consolidating our ties of friendship and solidarity, as well as raising the level of our relations and enhancing bilateral cooperation, so as to serve both countries’ interests,” he said in a congratulatory message to Sheikh Hasina.Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina won the Gopalganj-3 constituency in a landslide victory, her eighth term as a Member of Parliament, while her party clinched victory in 223 seats to form the government in the much-talked-about election on January 7.

Furthermore, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi on Monday congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her reelection.

“I extend my warmest congratulations to Your Excellency on winning the general elections that took place recently in your country, securing a new term as Prime Minister of Bangladesh,” Sisi said in a letter sent to the Bangladesh prime minister.

The Egyptian president continued that the prime minister's reelection reflects the confidence and trust Bangladeshis have in her able leadership to achieve further progress.

“Seizing this good opportunity, it is my pleasure to acknowledge that Egypt and Bangladesh share a long history of friendship and cooperation, and I am confident that the bilateral relations between our two countries will continue to grow over the coming years for the mutual benefit of our peoples," Sisi said.

“Reiterating my congratulations, please accept my sincerest wishes for the best of your well-being and continued success and for the welfare and prosperity of the friendly people of Bangladesh,” the Egyptian President added.
