Police detained 45 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in Jatrabari area of Dhaka on Friday morning.
Md Ziaul Ahsan Talukder, deputy commissioner of Wari Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, confirmed the matter.
He said Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists detonated cocktails during a procession in Boubazar Kajla area adjacent to Jatrabari Police Station this morning.
Later, police held the 45 people from the spot in connection with the alleged cocktail explosion and planning of subversive acts, he said.
A case is, however, under process and they will be sent to court after case filing, the official added.
