Classes resume at Chittagong University

Classes and academic activities have resumed at Chittagong University on Sunday (October 6), after more than two and a half months.

Chittagong University was shut for an indefinite period on July 17 when the quota protest turned violent and spread to campuses. Since then, academic activities at the educational institution remained halted because of the movements of teachers, students, employees and officials.

Meanwhile, the university has also banned all kinds of physical, mental and verbal ragging, bullying and eve-teasing on the campus.

"If any allegation of ragging, bullying or eve-teasing is proven against any student, the university administration will take action against him or her as per the academic and existing laws,” said a notification issued by Proctor Dr Tanvir Mohammad Hayder Arif.

The initiative aims to create a bullying-free, friendly environment on campus, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all students.
