Hearing on Mirza Abbas's bail plea in 9 cases on Thursday

A Dhaka court set to hold a hearing on bail pleas filed by BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas in nine separate cases lodged with the capital's Paltan and Ramna Police Stations on Thursday.

The court is likely to hold a hearing on the police plea to show the BNP leader arrested in these cases as well.

Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Rezaul Karim passed the order on Wednesday.

A total of 11 cases were filed against Abbas following the chaotic situation that unfolded on October 28, 2023. He was detained on October 31 from his Shahjahanpur home and shown arrested in a case filed under the sabotage and explosives substances act with the capital's Shahjahanpur police station.

But he is yet to be shown arrested in a total of 10 cases, of which five were filed with the Paltan Police Station, four with the Ramna Police Station, and one with the Railway Police Station.
