Arrest warrant issued for Evaly MD, chairman in 3 cases

Three cases filed against them
A Dhaka court ordered the issuance of arrest warrants against Evaly's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mohammad Rassel and his wife Shamima Nasreen in three separate cases filed on charges of fraud.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Farah Diba Chanda passed the order after the hearing on Monday afternoon.
The plaintiff's lawyer Sakibul Islam confirmed the information.
He said: “In three separate cases, Evaly's Managing Director (MD) Mohammad Rassel and Chairman Shamima Nasreen were scheduled to appear in court. But on this day, they did not appear in the court. We requested the court to issue an arrest warrant against them and the court granted the application.”
In the complaint of the first case, it is said that on January 30, 2021, the plaintiff Tanveer Ahmed paid Tk2,96,348 for the purchase of a motorcycle from the company of the defendants. Later, without giving the motorcycle, the defendants paid a cheque of the same amount to the plaintiff. On February 4, the plaintiff filed a Complaint Register Case (CR Case) in the court without receiving the cheque money.
In the complaint of the second case, it is said that on March 26, 2021, the plaintiff Md Main Uddin paid Tk2,99,740 for the purchase of a motorcycle from the company of the defendants. Later, instead of giving the motorcycle, the accused gave a cheque of the same amount. On February 4, the plaintiff filed the CR case in the court without receiving the cheque money.
In the complaint of the third case, it is said that on March 20, 2021, Tawfiq Mahmood paid Tk8,35,000 for the purchase of three motorcycles from the company of the defendants. Later, instead of giving the motorcycle, the accused gave a cheque of the same amount. On February 4, the plaintiff of the case filed the CR case in the court without receiving the cheque money.
