Nitai Roy Chowdhury made the committee's convener

The BNP has formed a five-member committee to conduct an impartial and thorough investigation into the incident of fire at a temple and the lynching of two brothers in Faridpur’s Madhukhali upazila.

The committee has been instructed to submit the report within the next five days.

BNP Vice-Chairman Advocate Nitai Roy Chowdhury has been made the committee's convener.

The other committee members are BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council member Bijan Kanti Sarkar, Organizing Secretary Shama Obaid, executive committee member Ruhul Quddus Kazal and Assistant Religious Affairs Secretary Amalendu Das Apu.

BNP Senior Joint General Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced this information in a statement on Tuesday.

The committee was formed during a virtual meeting of the standing committee held on Monday at the BNP chairperson's political office in Gulshan.

The statement says that the meeting expressed deep concern over the incidents that occurred on Thursday evening in Madhukhali upazila, where a temple was set on fire, and two workers were brutally beaten to death during the construction of a toilet at a nearby primary school.

The formation of the committee aims to ensure a fair and impartial investigation into the fire and the murder of the two brothers.
