Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association vote underway

Voting in the Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association (BFAA) election for the 2024-26 term is underway.
Balloting commenced at 9am on Friday (April 19) at the Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti and will continue until 5pm following a break at noon. The results will also be announced today.
Forty-eight candidates, including six independent aspirants, are contesting from two panels for 21 posts. One of the panels is led by Misha Sawdagar and Monowar Hossain Dipjol, while Mahmud Koli and Nipun Akter are heading the other one.
There are 571 eligible voters, according to the final voter list of the Election Commission.
There are about 250 policemen and members of various intelligence agencies in plain clothes at different places of the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC).
Apart from this, 31 surveillance cameras have been installed at various points of BFDC to make polling uninterrupted.
