Tells govt not to put nation in peril by holding one-sided polls
BNP Senior Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has urged the public to boycott the upcoming polls for the sake of civil liberties and basic human rights, saying the government will not be able to hold onto power by deceiving others through what he calls a staged election.
He made the call while distributing leaflets in front of Rajuk Uttara Model College in Dhaka on Thursday morning in support of the BNP’s non-cooperation movement for the boycott of the 12th national election.
Addressing the government, he said” “Do not put the nation in peril by holding this one-sided dummy election. You cannot hold onto power by deceiving others through this fraudulent election.”
He then reiterated his request to people from all walks of life, asking them to refuse to cast votes in protest of the “phoney election.”
