Traffic smooth on the Padma Bridge
Traffic on the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Expressway has surged as people are travelling to their hometowns for Eid-ul-Azha, which will be celebrated on June 17.
The bridge authority reported that vehicle pressure increased on Friday morning.
This has caused delays in toll collection at the Padma Bridge toll plaza.
However, there are no significant issues on the highway or the bridge.
Both long-distance and private vehicles, including motorcycles, are rushing to their destinations through the Padma Bridge.
Ziaul Islam, in-charge of Mawa Traffic Police, said traffic congestion was reported early in the morning as some goods-laden trucks were kept on the expressway late at night.
He also said the toll collection is ongoing at seven booths, including a separate booth for motorcycles on the Padma Bridge.
