Boat patrol party challenged miscreants entering Indian territory

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has informed its Bangladesh counterpart BGB about the murder of a forest guard on duty by miscreants.

Amalendu Halder along with three other persons of the Indian Forest Department were attacked by alleged miscreants from Bangladesh in the area of Netidhopani Beat Office of National Park West Range of the Sundarban Tiger Reserve on Saturday night.

The incident occurred when a boat patrol party of the Forest Department had challenged the miscreants who entered into the Indian territory illegally sailing on engine-fitted country boat.

However, the miscreants were armed with sharped edged weapons.

Being challenged, they launched the attack resulting in Amalendu’s death. Three others were seriously injured.

A massive hunt operation has been launched by BSF in joint operation with the forest department to locate those 10 alleged miscreants.

BSF also requested the BGB to alert troops for necessary action.
