Press Secretary: Govt will not tolerate attacks on media outlets

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Tuesday said threats and intimidation of journalists or attacking media outlets will not be tolerated.
He also condemned Monday's attack on Prothom Alo's Rajshahi office in the strongest terms.
“If you have complaints against the journalism of Prothom Alo, The Daily Star or any other media outlet, you can go to court to seek legal redress,” he said in a message on his verified Facebook account.
“You can also hold peaceful protests,” Shafiqul said, adding that protests against media outlets are not new and have been going on for centuries.
