Information Minister to represent Bangladesh in Maldives president swearing-in ceremony

Information minister Dr Hasan Mahmud will represent Bangladesh at the swearing-in ceremony of Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu on Friday.

Foreign ministry's spokesperson Seheli Sabrin in the weekly media briefing on Thursday the minister left Dhaka for Malé to attend the ceremony.

She said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was invited to attend the ceremony.

The information minister would represent her, the spokesperson said.

Director general of the UN wing Md Emdadul Islam Chowdhury and Director general of the EU wing Kazi Russel Pervez accompanied her at the briefing.

Mohamed Muizzu won the election in September polls. Over 100,000 Bangladeshis live in Maldives.
