Asks Awami League men to be alert
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Monday asked the opposition who will lead BNP’s three-day blockade as Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is in jail.
He made the comment at a meeting at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital.
“BNP's goal is to thwart the election, they do not want to participate in it. They would not have done so many crimes if they had any intention to participate,” Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister said.
The senior ruling party leader also directed the Awami League men to remain on alert to protect the country's developments from BNP’s blockade.
Obaidul Quader also hoped that the Awami League would win the next national election for the fourth time in a row by a huge margin considering the current situation in the country.
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader later thanked the party leaders and workers for successfully completing the peace and development rally on Saturday, despite hundreds of provocations.
“On October 28 (Saturday), we saw the victory spirit among the party leaders and workers, this is our victory. This is our election-oriented victory march against the failed movement of the opposition,” he said.
