"Many are asking how important this election is. This is the most important election in Bangladesh after the 1970 election. But killer vultures are flying over Bangladesh... The defeated forces of 1975 and terrorist party BNP are making their way in the field,” said Shamim Osman, also current MP of the constituency, while addressing a grand election rally at AKM Shamsuzzoha Sports Complex in Narayanganj.
Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, Narayanganj-1 constituency MP and Awami League candidate Golam Dastagir Gazi, Narayanganj-2 constituency MP Nazrul Islam Babu and the central and district level leaders of the party were present on the stage.
Urging to reelect Sheikh Hasina, Shamim Osman said that attempts have been made to kill Sheikh Hasina 21 times for the crime of surviving the murder on August 15, 1975.
“Won't you stand up for this woman? Swear in the name of Allah, we are ready?” he said.
