Consider decision that impact election
Additional Police Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Dr Mahid Uddin said that no decision has been taken yet regarding the permission for the human chain program announced by BNP on December 10.
He said this in response to questions from journalists at a press conference organized at DMP Media Centre on Wednesday afternoon.
He said that all organizations are working to assist the Election Commission since the announcement of schedule on November 15.
“Accordingly, our activities are going on step by step. Now we have to consider whether any decision of the executive will have any impact on the elections. The Election Commission is actively overseeing the broader situation, and we are open to embracing any observations made by the Election Commission for our actions in this regard,” the police commissioner added.
Emphasizing that the DMP will adhere to the Election Commission's monitoring, he clarified that no determination has been made concerning the approval of BNP's human chain. The DMP commissioner will engage in discussions with the EC to reach a decision on this matter.
