Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has started patrolling the pavilions and temples in the border areas to ensure peaceful celebration of the Durga Puja, the largest festival of the Hindu community.
As part of the initiatives, one platoon of BGB personnel patrolled all 39 pavilions of the Durga Puja at Debohata, Kaliganj and Shyamnagar upazilas of Satkhira district on Thursday (Oct 3), said a BGB press release.
The BGB personnel also exchanged views with the local leaders and eminent citizens to ensure foolproof security in and around the pavilions of the Durga Puja.
Members of the BGB are monitoring the closed-circuit cameras installed at the pavilions and temples of the Durga Puja round the clock to avoid any subversive acts, said the press release.
The BGB has also decided to set up base camps in the border areas to oversee the overall security arrangement.
