PM to inaugurate Agargaon-Motijheel portion Saturday
There will be three stops for the Dhaka metro rail from Agargaon to Motijheel once that section is opened, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said.
The trains would pick up and drop off passengers at Farmgate, Secretariat and Motijheel stations, Quader, who is also general secretary of the ruling Awami League, told reporters on Thursday, ahead of the Agargaon-Motijheel section’s inauguration on Saturday.
Metro rail up to Kamalapur would be complete by year, he said.
The trains would not carry passengers from Uttara to Agargaon on the day of the new portion’s opening, the minister added.
The prime minister would also inaugurate the construction of MRT Line 6 on Saturday, he said.
Afterwards, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend a rally in Motijheel at 4pm.
