Home Minister: People of Bangladesh will not return to darkness

The people of Bangladesh do not want to return to darkness, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has said. 

The people across the country say they do not want to go back to the grim phase from which Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has saved them, he said at a rally of Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League in Dhaka on Saturday.

The rally was organized to mark the inauguration of the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

The home minister said: "Sheikh Hasina is not only a beloved leader of Bangladesh, she is a renowned leader all around the world. Wherever I travelled, I heard people praising her. Everyone asks how our Prime Minister has such charisma that she turned the country from the poorest to one of the most developed countries?"

There is only one answer, he said, adding Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has Bangabandhu's blood on her arteries. “She loves the country, she loves the people, and the people love her back.”

The home minister added that the people of Bangladesh say the only alternative to Sheikh Hasina is Sheikh Hasina herself. 

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said the Awami League and the prime minister do not rely on any terrorism, conspiracy, or muscle power. “The people of the country are her only strength.”
