Price of one bhori of 22 carat gold increased by Tk2,916

The price of gold has reached record high, surging to Tk1.14 lakh per bhori.

The price of one bhori of 22 carat (11.664 grams) gold has been increased by Tk2,916.

Bangladesh Jewelers Association (Bajus) said that this price will be effective from Friday.

The Bajus hiked the prices of gold and silver because of a rise in their prices in the local market.

Earlier on March 20, the price of gold was slightly reduced. Now, the new record has been created by raising the price again.

Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee met on Thursday and decided to increase the prices.

Later this was informed in a circular signed by Masudur Rahman, chairman of the committee.

According to the new price, 22 carat (11.664 grams) gold will be sold at Tk1,14,074, 21 carat gold at Tk1,08,883, 18 carat at Tk 93,312 and traditional gold at Tk77,799.

The price of gold has been increased but the price of silver has been kept unchanged.

According to the category, currently the price of 22 carat silver is Tk2,100, 21 carat is Tk2,006, 18 carat is Tk1715 and traditional silver is Tk1,283.
