The Dhaka Noth City Corporation (DNCC) is conducting a drive to evict illegal constructions of Sadeeq Agro on Thursday.

The farm was illegally built on the site of the Ramchandrapur canal and the adjacent road in the Mohammadpur area.

One of the cowsheds of Sadeeq Agro was seen empty in the morning. All the goats, including the famous Tk15 lakh goat, are still inside a shed.

Mutakabbir Ahmed, executive magistrate of DNCC Zone 5 is conducting the eviction drive.

In this regard, Mutakabbir Ahmed said: “We are here to rescue the canal. Whoever has an establishment here, we will evict."

“The eviction drive is not against Sadeeq Agro, it is on the pipeline," said Asif Ahmed Sarker, commissioner of DNCC Ward 33.

An official of the agro, requesting anonymity, said: "Sadeeq Agro will not be disbanded due to this eviction. This is a conspiracy by other farmers. This property is not ours; we rented it."

Sadeeq Agro gained attention before Eid-ul-Azha by selling a goat for Tk15 lakh to the son of former NBR official Matiur Rahman.

The exorbitant price of the goat sparked widespread attention, along with a mix of curiosity and controversy.

However, Matiur Rahman denied these claims, saying: "Iffat, the person being talked about, is neither my son nor even a relative or acquaintance. My only son's name is Toufiqur Rahman. I will formally protest these rumours."

Subsequently, scrutiny fell on Matiur Rahman and his family’s lifestyle.
