Accused in a sabotage case
A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas on a 5-day remand in a case filed under sabotage and explosives substances act with the capital's Shahjahanpur police station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shafi Uddin passed the order on Wednesday after police produced him before the court with a five-day remand plea.
Police arrested Abbas on Tuesday night from his Shahjahanpur residence.
Earlier on October 29, sub-inspector Mostafizur Rahman of Shahjahanpur Police Station filed the case against Mirza Abbas and 48 others.
Another 700 to 800 unnamed people were made accused in the case.
