The Jatiya Party announced a rally on Saturday, demanding the withdrawal of cases against the party chairman, secretary-general, and other leaders, as well as price control and justice for the arson attack on their party office.
Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader is expected to attend the rally, which will take place in front of the central office in Kakrail, Dhaka.
Speaking about the event, GM Quader said: "Our rally and movement will proceed in an orderly and nonviolent manner on the 2nd."
He added: "We have come here prepared to die; we want to see how much they can suppress us. Despite everything, our rally will proceed. We are alive by Allah's protection, not anyone else's."
He said: "If we must rely on divine intervention for justice, how will the country function? We don’t want a democracy that lasts only one day; we want enduring democracy."
"We want a government that is true of the people, by the people, for the people," he added.
