Awami League to consider seat allocation to alliances upon agreement

The party announced 298 candidates for national election
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that the party may allocate some seats to its alliances if they reach an agreement.
He said this while replying to a question from journalists at the Awami League president's political office in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi area on Tuesday.
The senior leader further said Awami League will field candidates in 300 seats in the 12th parliamentary election.
Regarding BNP, the road transport and bridges minister said: “Awami League does not have any plan to bring BNP to the election. However, the Awami League will welcome them if they decide to join.”
Obaidul Quader said Awami League President and Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina has instructed the party's nominated candidates and leaders to follow the electoral code of conduct.
On Monday, Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud also said Awami League seats will be adjusted after an understanding with the alliances.
He added Awami League candidates have been nominated in almost all the seats as there is no coordination with the alliance parties yet.
The ruling Awami League has announced candidates for 298 constituencies for the upcoming 12th national parliamentary election.
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced the names of the candidates at a press conference at the party's headquarters in the capital's Bangabandhu Avenue on Sunday.
