PM sells 80 mounds of paddy to Tungipara Food Warehouse
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has earned Tk96,000 selling Boro paddy produced on her ancestral land in Gopalganj’s Tungipara upazila.
She sold 80 mounds of paddy to Tungipara Food Warehouse on Tuesday.
This information was obtained from Tungipara Food Warehouse and Upazila Agriculture Office sources.
According to the sources, the prime minister's paddy was collected on behalf of the warehouse on Tuesday. It mentions Sudha Sadan in Dhanmondi as the prime minister's address.
This is the second time that the prime minister has sold rice to the government food warehouse.
She sold paddy to food warehouses for the first time in the last year during the Boro season.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was presented with three ton rice weight standard and storage certificate.
According to the weight standard and storage standard certificate, the premier sold 3,000 kg of paddy in 75 sacks at the government fixed price of Tk32 per kg. In total, she received Tk96,000.
Bidyut Kumar Biswas, officer-in-charge (OC-LSD) of the warehouse, also confirmed the matter.
The money has been sent online on Sheikh Hasina’s bank account.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Rakibul Islam said that the prime minister sold the paddy produced in his ancestral land.
The upazila food warehouse has purchased this paddy through the agriculture department.
The official also said that the prime minister had sold paddy in the food warehouse last year as well.
