Public Administration Minister Farhad Hossain on Saturday said government offices across the country will run on a new schedule for the next three days.
Speaking to journalists on Saturday afternoon, the minister added, “Government offices will operate from 9am to 3pm from next Sunday [July 28] to Tuesday [July 30].”
It should be noted that a general holiday was declared from last Sunday to Tuesday due to massive casualties and violence centring the quota reform movement. Although a curfew is still in place, government offices had restarted operations on a limited scale from last Wednesday.
Such offices remained open last Wednesday and Thursday from 11am to 3pm.
Though the curfew is in place in four districts including Dhaka, it has been relaxed from 8am to 5pm.
In response to a query on when the curfew will be lifted, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan recently said, “The law and order situation is improving rapidly across the country. The curfew will be relaxed gradually only when public safety is ensured.”
