Ayman Sadiq, founder and CEO of Ten Minute School, recently lost a significant investment of Tk 5 crore due to his public support for the ongoing quota reform movement in government jobs. State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, Junaid Ahmed Palak, announced the cancellation of the investment proposal at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 16.
In a Facebook post, the State Minister stated that the investment proposal from Startup Bangladesh Limited had been canceled. The verified Facebook page of Startup Bangladesh Limited also confirmed the cancellation of the contract with Ayman Sadiq, though no official reason was provided.
Ayman Sadiq has been vocal in his support for the quota reform movement, posting multiple statuses on social media advocating for change. He expressed his discontent with the situation at Dhaka University, writing, "Bloody Dhaka University! Why is there blood on my campus? Protest." His Facebook cover photo also reflected his support for the movement.
Ten Minute School, founded in 2015, offers extensive educational resources for students from classes 6th-12th, university entrance exam candidates, and job aspirants. The platform provides over 35,000 recorded video lectures, 82,000 quizzes, model tests, e-books, and lecture sheets. The app has more than 6.7 million users, with over 10 million students engaging with its content monthly through the website and social media.
Despite its wide-reaching impact and popularity, the political stance of its founder has led to a significant financial setback for Ten Minute School.
