To assist students with any inconveniences

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has launched “Quick Response Teams” to assist the students of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations, set to begin on Thursday.

DMP Additional Commissioner (Traffic) Munibur Rahman, at a press conference on Tuesday, said each zone of the Traffic Division will form a separate Quick Response Team to tackle any inconvenience of the examinees.

"In case of any emergency, anyone can call 999 for help. In this case, the Traffic Division will try to provide all kinds of cooperation,” he said.

Addressing the students, he said they must plan before leaving their houses so that they can reach the examination centres at least 30 minutes before their tests start.

He also urged the parents and guardians not to gather in front of the examination centers, as it causes difficulties for the students.

This year, a total of 2,024,192 examinees will appear in the examinations from 29,735 educational institutions at 3,700 centres, he said while talking to reporters after a meeting over ensuring fair and copying-free environment during the examinations.

No mobile phones and electronic devices will be allowed in the examination centres and only the hall secretary will be allowed to use a general phone set without an internet connection.

The question code will be announced 25 minutes before the exam begins.
