Former environment minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury has been detained, police say.
He was caught from Dhaka’s Gulshan neighbourhood on Sunday (October 6) evening, said Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman of the Detective Branch.
A DB team raided Saber’s Gulshan house in the afternoon and detained him from there.
“The former minister is accused in some cases. He’s currently in the DB office,” Rahman said.
Many officials, ministers and MPs of the ousted Awami League-led government have been arrested since Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country on August 5.
