Quader: Over 1,648C toll collected from Padma Bridge in 2yrs

Tk314 crore will be submitted on Thursday as 7th and 8th installments
Over Tk1,648 crore toll have so far been collected from 1.27 crore vehicles that crossed the Padma Bridge
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader came up with the information on Tuesday.
Besides, Tk948 crore has been paid to the Finance Division in the six installments while Tk314 crore will be submitted to the Finance Division to the prime minister on Thursday as 7th and 8th installments, he said while talking to reporters at Shetu Bhaban.
He also claimed that Padma Bridge construction saved Tk1,500 crore.
On June 25, 2022, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the much-awaited Padma Bridge.
The bridge was opened for traffic on the next day. Some 51,316 vehicles used the bridge on the first day after its opening. Tk2,09,31,550 was collected on that day.
