Takes charge of the Road Transport and Bridges Ministry for the fourth time
Regarding the upcoming challenge and pressure from foreign countries, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said the government has the capacity, courage and capability to overcome domestic and foreign pressure and conspiracies.
He said this while talking to reporters at his office at the Secretariat on the first day after taking charge of the Road Transport and Bridges Ministry for the fourth time.
In response to a question from journalists, he said: “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has repeatedly spoken about both domestic and international pressures. But we possess the ability, courage, and strength to overcome them. Our strength comes from the people of Bangladesh, and our bond is with the soil and its people.”
Referring to the pre-election circumstances, Obaidul Quader said: "The election has already taken place. Many said we would not be able to conduct the election, but their dreams have turned into nightmares.”
“We know there will be pressure from abroad, and conspiracies to destabilize our economy. We can not be afraid of these, we need to remain strong,” he added.
Regarding the hardships faced by low and middle-income people due to the recent rise in commodity prices, he said: "The commodity price needs to be reduced. The prime minister has ordered a reduction in commodity prices to keep them affordable for people."
Sending a message to the opposition, the Awami League's general secretary said: "This country belongs to all of us, not just to the Awami League because we are in power. Everyone should have the goodwill to understand that conspiracies do not enrich a country. We must love our country, ensure the return of true democracy, and achieve development for all. That is the key to everyone's prosperity."
"The development achieved during the Awami League government is the nation's asset, belonging to all its citizens, not just the Awami League members. Opposition party members will enjoy the benefits of this development. Because they too are citizens of this country,” he added.
