Full committee of JnU Chhatra Dal announced with 460 members

The full committee of Jagannath University (JnU) Chhatra Dal, comprising 460 members, has been announced.

Mehedi Hasan Himel has been named convener, while Shamsul Arefin has been appointed member secretary.

The announcement was made on Thursday, through a statement signed by the organization’s central committee president, Md Rakibul Islam Rakib, and general secretary, Nasir Uddin Nasir.

The newly published committee includes 205 joint conveners and 253 members.

Regarding the committee, JnU Chhatra Dal Convener Mehedi Hasan Himel said: “The committee has been finalized today. Thanks to the central executive committee.”

He added: “The committee has been formed with those who have long been fighting on the streets. A well-balanced committee has been formed with members from all groups."

Committee Member Secretary Shamsul Arefin said: "After 16 years of fascist rule, we have been able to form a full-fledged Chhatra Dal committee at Jagannath University. The committee has expanded to ensure that all those who participated in the anti-fascist movement receive their rightful positions.”

He added: “Moreover, we are delighted to have formed a 460-member committee, overcoming the previous tendency of monopolizing positions."

Earlier, on December 24 last year, the Jagannath University unit of Chhatra Dal was formed with Mehedi Hasan Himel as convener and Shamsul Arefin as member secretary.
