According to the new rate, the price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder has been reduced by Tk 26 — from Tk 1,241 to Tk 1,215 — at the consumer level. The revised price will take effect from Sunday evening.
In addition, the price of autogas has also been reduced from Tk 56.77 per litre to Tk 55.58 per litre.
Earlier in October, BERC had cut the price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder by Tk 29, bringing it down from Tk 1,270 to Tk 1,241. At that time, the price of autogas was reduced by Tk 1.38 to Tk 56.77 per litre.
Data from BERC show that in 2024, LPG and autogas prices were decreased four times, increased seven times, and remained unchanged once. The prices went up in January, February, March, July, August, September and October, while they declined in April, May, June and November. Prices remained unchanged in December.
The latest price adjustment reflects the global fluctuations in the cost of imported LPG, which directly influences local retail prices.
