BAJUS announced the price hike today (November 13), which it called a readjustment of the prices considering a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market.
The new price will be effective tomorrow (November 14).
Each bhori (11.664g) of 22-carat gold will now cost Tk 213,719.
Meanwhile, 21-carat gold will cost Tk 204,003, and each bhori of 18-carat gold will cost Tk 174,855.
The traditional gold price has been set at Tk 145,520 per bhori.
BAJUS said a 5% VAT and a minimum 6% wage have to be added to the jewellery.
BAJUS has revised gold prices 76 times so far this year. Last year, it adjusted the prices 62 times.
