Poppy recently told a media outlet that she has been being threatened in various ways for almost a year. The main focus of her complaint is her cousin's husband, Tarek Ahmed Chowdhury. Poppy said that even after hearing the news of the death of a close relative, she could not go to Khulna due to the threats.

According to the actress, "Tarek called me and told me that if I went to Khulna, they would try to kill me. I couldn't go there because of my own safety concerns."

Poppy alleges that the land she bought from her uncle Kabir Hossain in 2007 is currently being occupied by her cousins Mukta and Tarek. She is threatened in various ways when she tries to use the land. Poppy also claims that she has been harassed in the past by political influence.

He appealed to the administration to look into the matter seriously. However, accused Tarek Ahmed Chowdhury claimed that the matter was 'baseless' and that he had not threatened anyone.

Family disputes and property-related complications surrounding Poppy have been making headlines for some time now. In July this year, another uncle of Poppy, Mia Babul Hossain, also held a press conference alleging land grabbing against the same person.

Earlier, in early February this year, Poppy was also accused of attempting to seize land. At that time, Poppy's sister Firoza Parveen filed a general diary (GD) against her at Sonadanga Police Station in Khulna city. After that incident, Poppy came out in public with her husband and children.

Amidst this controversy, the actress said that there is very little chance of her returning to acting in a new film for now.
