Prabha gave a detailed account of her experience in a video message posted on her Facebook account last Tuesday (December 2) night.
Prabha said that a company contacted her last Ramadan. Although they introduced themselves as a gaming website, they hid from her the gambling or betting related issues. Since she is not familiar with games or such sites at all, she repeatedly wanted to know what the site would be used for. The company told her that it would mainly show T20 matches and various games.
Prabha said that on the day of signing the contract, he was asked to give a small byte (video clip). After taking the token money (advance), he only gave a small byte saying that he was with this site.
After the video was released, Prabha learned from viewers' comments on social media that it was actually a promotion for a gambling or betting site.
Prabha said, "I didn't know that this was betting, which is very wrong and illegal. Right? When people told me that I was doing something negative as soon as I posted it, I immediately felt shocked."
She then quickly contacted the company, who told her that she might not know what a betting website means. Prabha then clarified that she had repeatedly asked what the game was out of ignorance.
As soon as he learned about the matter, he withdrew from the promotion work. Prabha said that despite the company trying to intimidate him in various ways, he did not do the work again.
Prabha also said, 'Thank God I found out through the viewers that it was a gambling promotion and I immediately suspended the thing.'
Prabha said that in the future, he will never promote any gambling promotion or betting website. He requested journalists to accurately report his statement that he went to do the promotion, but did not do it after learning that it was illegal.
