Time News Desk: About Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to India, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday said the Prime Minister returned to the country empty-handed from India.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the comment to reporters in Thakurgaon following the prime minister’s press conference on her visit to India.
‘The prime minister could not solve the problem of the Teesta water sharing and the problem of common rivers and the problem of border killings,’ Fakhrul said.
He also said that Hasina could not clearly say at the press conference what she brought for the people of Bangladesh when she visited India.
Regarding the election, Fakhrul said that the BNP would not go to any election under Sheikh Hasina.
‘Elections will never be acceptable and free and fair if elections are not held under a neutral caretaker government. The people of the country will not participate in the polls without restoring the caretaker government system.
Regarding the Election Commission’s action plan for the next general elections, the BNP leader said ‘We do not accept the Election Commission itself. We have no say about the Election Commission’s action plan.’
PM Hasina addressed a press conference at her official residence Ganobhaban in Dhaka on her recent four-day India visit.
