He said that there is no situation in Bangladesh where Indian officials or their families are in danger.

He made these remarks in response to a question from journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday (January 28).

When asked if there was any security concern or signal regarding the repatriation of family members of Indian diplomats, the Foreign Advisor said, "There is no concern. And what the signal is, I don't understand. It is their own matter. They can ask their staff's families to leave at any time."

He said, "I don't see any reason why they are doing this. There is no situation in Bangladesh where their officials or families are in danger. There has not been a single incident like this. They may have fears, or they may be trying to send a message - maybe. But I don't really see any real message in it."

Touhid Hossain said, "But I will put it this way - if they want to take their families back, we have nothing to do about it. They can take them. Overall, there was no disruption in security. If we look back, when there were elections - there had been no elections for a long time in between - there were always minor fights and jostling during the election period. It doesn't seem like there has been anything more than that this time."

When asked whether India had officially informed the diplomats about their safety regarding the repatriation of their family members, the foreign affairs advisor said, "We have not been informed of any such thing that they are in danger."
