The Ministry of Public Administration issued eight separate notifications on Monday (December 1) confirming the new appointments.
Earlier, on November 26, the ministry appointed new UNOs in 166 upazilas in the first phase.
In another notification, the ministry stated that all officers appointed as UNOs have been granted Executive Magistrate powers, including the authority under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, to carry out administrative duties in their respective jurisdictions.
The appointed officers have been instructed to join their new workplaces by December 4. Those who fail to join within the stipulated time will be considered automatically released from their current positions on the afternoon of the same day.
The notification also added that if a transferred officer’s workplace has already changed, he or she must submit a joining letter mentioning the name and address of the current office.
