The blanket distribution programme was held on Tuesday (January 6), beginning from the Rajbari District Court premises and extending to several marginal and backward areas of the district. The initiative aimed to ease the suffering of poor and vulnerable people during the ongoing cold spell and has been widely appreciated by local residents.

The programme was inaugurated by Law Forum Rajbari Vice President and Multimedia In-Charge of The Daily Inqilab Shohagh Mahamood, along with the organisation’s President Kazi Afroza. Under the initiative, hundreds of blankets were arranged for distribution, with members of Law Forum personally delivering them to people in need.

At least 200 blankets were distributed among underprivileged individuals in marginal areas, including the Rajbari railway station. Winter clothes were also provided to residents of orphanages, remote pasture areas, government housing projects, cluster villages and forest-dwelling communities.

Justice SM Quddus Zaman of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and Khulna Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Muhammad Akram Hossain are the principal patrons of Law Forum Rajbari. Members of the organisation, along with advisory board members and district-level judicial officials, also visited the court premises and paid courtesy calls on senior lawyers and the Deputy Commissioner of Rajbari district.

Law Forum Rajbari is a non-political service organisation comprising judges, lawyers and law students from various universities and colleges across Bangladesh who are associated with Rajbari. The organisation works to provide legal assistance to the poor and helpless and to carry out various social service activities aimed at establishing justice in the district.
