He made the remarks at the inauguration ceremony of the e-Family Court held at the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court on Monday (November 24) morning.

Dr. Asif Nazrul said, “You can get justice free of cost by going through legal aid. We have made this mandatory for family-related cases. We have already introduced the system in 20 districts, and we aim to implement it in all 64 districts before we finish our term.” He expressed hope that the system would help reduce the backlog of cases by at least 50 percent within the next five years.

He further said that meaningful reform takes time and cannot be achieved overnight. “It took former Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew ten years to reform Singapore,” he noted. “The state cannot be weakened by pushing reforms that the public is not ready to accept. People must also be prepared for change. We must be realistic when implementing reforms.”
