A notification in this regard was issued by the Contracts and Foreign Employment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday (January 15). Joint Secretary Abul Hayat Md. Rafiq signed the notification on the orders of the President.
The notification states that this appointment is on a contractual basis for a period of three years from the date of joining on the condition of renouncing any other profession, business or employment relationship with any government, semi-government, private institution or organization. Other terms of appointment will be determined by the contract.

The notification further states that this order has been issued in the public interest.
It is worth mentioning that on December 12, Shaheed Osman Hadi ended his election campaign by offering Friday prayers in Motijheel. Then, on his way to Suhrawardy Udyan, at 2:20 pm on that day, when the autorickshaw carrying Hadi reached the Box Culvert area of Paltan, miscreants on a motorcycle shot him with the intention of killing him and fled. Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a seriously injured condition. After the operation, he was sent to Evercare Hospital.
He was later sent to Singapore on December 15 for advanced treatment. He died on December 18 while undergoing treatment there.
