The information was provided in a statement issued on Monday (December 1) evening by Abul Kashem Mohammad Shamsuddin, convener of the organization.

According to the statement, the ongoing full-day work stoppage and exam boycott will continue on Tuesday as planned. Monday marked the third day of spontaneous participation in the strike and exam boycott in primary schools nationwide.

The statement added, “We will not allow the sacrifice of our colleague Shaheed Fatema Akhtar and the blood of more than two hundred colleagues to go in vain.” It further noted that, as there has been no visible progress in fulfilling their three-point demands—including the implementation of grade 11 as assured in the Finance Ministry’s press release—the continuous full-day strike will continue.

The three-point demands of the Primary Teachers’ Demand Implementation Council are: Fixing the salary scale of assistant teachers at the 10th grade. Resolving complications regarding higher grade eligibility after 10 and 16 years of service. Ensuring 100% departmental promotion from assistant teacher to head teacher.
