Dr. Shafiqur Rahman made the remarks in a statement posted on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday (December 24) night.

In the post, the Jamaat Ameer prayed for the deceased, saying, “I pray for the forgiveness of the soul of the deceased Siam. May Allah Almighty forgive him, have mercy on him, and grant his bereaved family the strength to endure this loss.”

He further wrote that “innocent Siam had to pay the price for the failure to arrest the murderers of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi,” alleging that a “vicious gang” is carrying out covert attacks to destabilize the country.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman called on the administration to carry out its duties with sincerity and urged the public to build resistance against such violence.

Earlier, a bomb was reportedly thrown from a flyover in front of Muktijoddha Goli in Moghbazar, killing Siam, aged 20.
