In a statement issued on Tuesday (September 23), Jamaat Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar condemned and rejected the remarks, calling them “completely untrue, disrespectful and vindictive.”

“We find it difficult to believe that such a statement could be made by a senior politician like Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir,” Parwar said. “There is no connection between this statement and truth or decency. If this claim is indeed his, then we are compelled to protest and condemn it. Furthermore, we call upon him to present evidence to the nation showing from whom Jamaat sought these seats.”

He further clarified that Jamaat-e-Islami is guided solely by its central leadership and has no involvement in the politics of seeking parliamentary seats from any party at present. “If he fails to present evidence in support of his statement, we urge him to accept the truth and at least express regret before the people,” Parwar added.

Regarding Mirza Fakhrul’s remarks about Jamaat’s political activities, the Jamaat leader said, “I leave the judgment of such contemptuous language about our politics and organizational dignity to the people’s court. We trust our beloved people. Our activities are for the country and the nation, and achieving the satisfaction of Almighty Allah is our ultimate goal. Our reliance is on His mercy and help.”

Concluding his statement, Parwar urged Mirza Fakhrul to refrain from making “untrue and misleading” comments in the future.
