Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has returned home after completing visits to the United States and the United Kingdom. He arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka early Tuesday morning at 5:30 a.m.
He was received at the airport by senior central leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, including Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman, A.N.M. Shamsul Islam, Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Assistant Secretaries General Maulana A.T.M. Masum, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, A.H.M. Hamidur Rahman Azad, Maulana Abdul Halim, Advocate Muazzem Hossain Helal, Central Publicity and Media Secretary Matiur Rahman Akand, Executive Council Members Saiful Alam Khan Milon, Principal Shahabuddin, Mobarak Hossain, Dhaka South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul, Dhaka North Ameer Selim Uddin, and several other central and city-level leaders.
Following his arrival, Dr. Rahman spoke briefly with journalists at the VIP lounge. A large number of party leaders and activists gathered outside the airport to welcome him.
Dr. Rahman had left Bangladesh on 19 October to perform Umrah in Saudi Arabia. From there, he travelled to the United States on 22 October, where he attended press briefings and meetings organized by expatriate Bangladeshis across several states. He later visited the United Kingdom, participating in a press conference and several community meetings with Bangladeshi expatriates.
After completing his foreign tour, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has now returned to Bangladesh.
