The protesters declared that they would continue their sit-in program indefinitely until their demand is met.
On Thursday, protesters gathered in front of DSCC’s main office, Nagar Bhaban, from the morning. Under the banner "City Hall Blockade organized by the citizens of Dhaka," people from various wards of the city joined the demonstration through processions.
Participating in the sit-in program, the protestors stated that even though the court’s verdict and the Election Commission’s gazette have already been published, Ishraque Hossain has still not been sworn in or handed over mayoral responsibilities. They said this is clearly a violation of the judiciary.
They added that Ishraque is the mayor elected by the people, and not swearing him in is a betrayal of the Constitution and democracy.
