Uttara West Police Station said that the names of three of the deceased have been identified so far. They are Fazle Rabbi (37), Hares (52) and his son Rahab (17). Hares' wife and Rahab's mother also died in the incident, but the names of another deceased including him have not been revealed.

Uttara West Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiq Ahmed said, "The bodies of three of the deceased are at Uttara Kuwait Friendship Hospital, two at another hospital in Uttara, and the latest death we received was at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Our various teams are working to find out how many people were injured in the incident." 

Regarding the origin of the fire, Rafiq Ahmed said, "From the information we have received so far, the fire started in a kitchen on the second floor of the building. It could be due to an electrical fault in the kitchen or a gas leak. However, we are not sure about this yet." 

Talha Bin Jasim, the officer-in-charge of the Fire Service's media cell, said that two units from the North Fire Station left for the scene after receiving information at 7:54 am that a fire had broken out in the area of ​​Road No. 18, Sector No. 11, Uttara at 7:50 am. The fire service units reached the scene at 7:58 am and started work to control the fire.
