Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Media and Public Relations Department, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, confirmed the development on Saturday (December 13).
Osman Hadi was seriously injured when motorcycle-riding assailants attacked him in the Bijoynagar Box Culvert area of the capital. Following the incident, the DMP launched an extensive operation across the city to arrest those involved.
According to the DMP, a suspect has been initially identified after analyzing CCTV footage from the scene. Police are continuing efforts to track him down.
The DMP has urged anyone with information about the identified individual, or who may spot him, to immediately inform the police by calling 999 or contacting the following numbers: DC Motijheel at 01320040080 and OC Paltan at 01320040132.
Police said the identity of informants will be kept confidential and appropriate rewards will be given for credible information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
