Nasir made the accusation on Sunday while addressing a rally at Shahbagh in the capital, organised in response to the recent killing of DU student and Chhatra Dal leader Shahriar Alam Shammo.

Nasir said: “The DU administration has failed to provide comprehensive safety for its students. Following the murder of Tofazzal at Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall, the administration took no responsibility. Had there been a proper investigation and justice in that case, Shammo might not have met the same fate. I strongly demand the immediate resignation of the current administration.”

He further alleged: “We are witnessing a pattern of targeted killings of Chhatra Dal activists since August 5. Earlier, one of our members from a private university, Parvez, was also killed. Yet, we see no visible steps towards justice.”

Warning of potential retaliation, he added: “If Chhatra Dal activists are attacked again, we will resist the attackers alongside general students across educational institutions nationwide. We urge the authorities to swiftly arrest Shammo’s real killers.”

Criticising the government, Nasir said: “When the NCP stages a protest, they are simply sprayed with cold water. But when Jagannath University students demonstrate for a justified cause, they are brutally beaten by police. This double standard raises serious concerns among the public.”
