The Dhaka leg of the BPL was scheduled to start today. However, as part of the previously announced program of the COAB to 'boycott all forms of cricket', they have also boycotted the BPL matches today. As a result, both matches of today's BPL were postponed. However, after discussions with the cricketers at the end of the day, the COAB expressed its desire to return to cricket.

The decision was changed by the COAB considering the upcoming T20 World Cup, Women's World Cup qualifiers and the ongoing Under-19 World Cup and BPL. In a press release, the COAB said, "We are having ongoing discussions among ourselves regarding the ongoing complications of Bangladesh cricket. We, the cricketers, have come to understand after discussing that our women's national team is currently playing in the World Cup qualifiers in Nepal, the men's national team is in the T20 World Cup ahead of them, and the men's Under-19 team is currently in the World Cup. The impact of stopping all forms of sports may fall on these teams. We also consider the BPL very important. Therefore, in the larger interest of cricket, we have reconsidered our previous decision."

Welcoming the decision to remove Nazmul, the COAB said, "We welcome the decision to remove BCB Director M Nazmul Islam from the Finance Committee. Since he has been given a show cause notice and the BCB has asked for time for procedural reasons regarding his directorship, we would like to give him that time. However, we hope that the process will continue."

"In addition, since director M Nazmul Islam has publicly spoken insulting words about cricketers, we hope he will publicly apologize. We have informed the BCB that if he publicly apologizes and the process for his directorship is ongoing, we are ready to return to the game from Friday."
